Refurbished phone has become a new favorite for the public recently. The quality of refurbished phone has been doubted, but the fairly low price and the famous brand of refurbished phone deeply attract lots of people.

But what's refurbished phone?
A refurbished phone is a second-hand phone that has been tested and reconditioned for sale as a high-quality used phone. The manufacturer goes over it and then provides them for resale at a discounted rate, they are in like new condition. Actually some accessories such as charger, data cable are new, and the main part of the refurbished phone, the motherboard is ORIGINAL. The used phones undergo a thorough testing and reconditioning program. Only those found up to the requirements shall be allowed for sale.

And what’s the cost performance of refurbished phone after all? What’s the advantages and disadvantages of refurbished phone compared with original phone? 

With iphone as an example, the following will compare one refurbished iphone 3G(16gb) with the original iphone from the aspects of appearance, performance, after-sale service, and price.

1 Appearance
the following is the front view of the refurbished iphone 3g and original one. It's really difficult to find the difference between them.


It is the bottom side of the two. The speaker membrane of refurbished one is comparatively flat, the original one gets a little radian.


The following is the upper side. The SIM card slot of refurbished isn't as perfect fit with the shell as the original one.


From above we can see, the appearance of the two shows little difference.

2 Performance:
Now, it comes to the core. What's the performance of the two after all? 
performance can mainly present by the operation of camera(the quality of the picture), games (visual and sound effects ), phones(receiver sound effect).

The receiver sound effect is clear, there is little difference between them as the games .

In general ,because the mainpart of a phone- motherboard is original, the operation effects of the original phone and the refurbished one display little difference in the comparison. 

3 After-sale service:
besides performance of the phones, after-sale service becomes one of the focus that the customers considers.
The original phone is often guaranteed for one year under the same supplier. 
Generally speaking , refurbished phone is often with 90-days warranty.
But the refurbished phone in pandawill offers one year warranty.


4 Price
There are locked price and unlocked price for phone. 
The unlocked phone is welcomed by the public. Generally, it can adopt your present SIM card, but to the locked one, you have to receive the service that the supplier offers. Maybe the locked price is cheaper than unlocked price, but the service is quite expensive. Therefore, the unlocked phone is comparatively cheap a lot in the long term.
